FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How dry leases, Owner approval, packages and fuel work on PickYourPlane.
Renters & Pilots
Does PickYourPlane provide pilots?
No. Flight crew is not included. Lessees independently select, engage and compensate their own flight crew. PickYourPlane does not provide, select, assign, schedule, contract or pay pilots.
Can aircraft be used for time building or training?
Yes, when the Owner allows it. Each listing shows the missions the Owner accepts, such as time building, flight training or personal trips. You can filter aircraft by mission when you search.
Who determines pilot minimum requirements?
The aircraft Owner. Minimum requirements such as total time, time in type or ratings are set per aircraft and shown on the listing before you request. PickYourPlane does not approve pilot qualifications.
Aircraft Owners
How does Owner approval work?
Every request goes to the Owner, who reviews the requester and the trip details. The Owner can approve, ask for more information or decline. Nothing is booked until the Owner approves.
Can Owners control price, availability and approval?
Yes. Owners set their hourly price and packages, manage availability and decide which requests to approve.
Can an Owner use PickYourPlane with their own existing customers?
Yes. Owners can use PickYourPlane to manage requests, packages and bookings for renters they already work with, as well as new ones. Contact us if you'd like to talk through your setup.
Do I need to create an account to list my aircraft?
Not to get started. You can send us your aircraft details through List Your Aircraft and a PickYourPlane representative will contact you.
Dry Lease & Operations
What is an aircraft dry lease?
In a dry lease, the aircraft is leased without flight crew. The lessee arranges their own crew and retains operational control of the flight. For the specific obligations that apply to your situation, consult the applicable regulations and a qualified advisor.
Is PickYourPlane an air carrier or charter operator?
No. PickYourPlane is an aircraft marketplace. It does not operate aircraft and does not exercise operational control over flights.
Packages & Payments
How do aircraft packages work?
Owners can offer blocks of hours (for example 10, 25 or 50 hours) at a package price. You choose a package when you request, then track hours as you fly them.
What does WET vs DRY mean for fuel?
WET means fuel is included in the hourly rate. DRY means fuel is not included and is paid separately. Each listing shows which basis applies.
Aircraft Information & Safety
Who maintains the aircraft?
The aircraft Owner. PickYourPlane does not maintain aircraft. Listings show the aircraft information the Owner provides.
Does PickYourPlane approve insurance coverage?
No. Owners determine insurance documentation requirements and acceptance of lessees and pilots.
